The project aims to move beyond fixed, developer-created scenarios by establishing a framework in which clinical cases can b e created, adapted, and shared by the wider medical education community.
The current simulation provides the foundation for this approach through interactive patient management, physio ogical modelling, clinical interventions, investigations, and visual case construction. Future development will build on this foundation by strengthening case architecture, introducing safety and validation mechanisms, supporting multiple clinical stages, and incorporating user-centred feedback and discussion.
The longer-term vision is an extensible simulation environment in which educators, clinicians, and learners can contribute clinical scenarios that can be adapted and used within a wider educational community.
The platform currently provides the underlying framework for developing and running interactive patient cases. Clinical findings, physiological changes, investigations, interventions, and patient progression can be brought together within a single simulation environment.
Visual Case Construction
A node-based architecture provides a visual method for defining clinical scenarios. Cases can connect patient findings, investigations, interventions, medications, physiological effects, and progression rules to determine how a scenario develops during simulation.
Peer-to-Peer Sharing
Share your custom scenarios with a community of learners and educators.
An Open Case Ecosystem
The longer-term direction is to establish an application where clinical simulation cases are not limited to those created by the original developers. Instead, users will be able to contribute and adapt scenarios, creating a broader and continually expanding collection of interactive clinical cases.
